Sat, 12/30/00 | Swapmeet in morning. Then trip to Legoland! |
|
Some folks got up early
and went to the swapmeet - one of Ty's favorite places; it's a giant open air market held
every weekend throughout the year. Ty, Mum, Gary, Dad, Fiona and Lee toured around
the swap; Fiona brought me back a beautiful bouquet of flowers - thanks sis! Then Ty drove an entourage to Legoland! The kids especially enjoyed the lego boat trip where they saw the Sydney Opera House, Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty -- wow! All this in San Diego? Yes, plus lego animals, lego cars and a lego "miniland" (San Francisco, New Orleans, New York). And of course the exciting lego driving test for the kids - they all got their license! Meanwhile, Mum, Gary and I enjoyed a visit to Balboa Park. We started off with a delightful lunch in the Garden Cafe followed by a fascinating look around the Museum of Man where ancient mummies were on display. We also went into the children's section and dressed up like an Egyptian (well, I did!). And that was all we had time for; there's so much to see and do in Balboa Park but then it was getting on plus the fog decided to come right in! We all met up at the end of the day and swapped stories. |
Yippee! Legoland!
Vroom, vroom!

"Walk like an Egyptian?" I know, keep the day job!
