Sat, 1/6/01 | Day trip to Universal Studios. | |
We
got up pretty early today and went back to the van hire place. (Thanks Dad!)
We set off in comfort again in the new van with lots of buttons that I like to
press! ;-) Fiona was excited when we started to arrive in Hollywood and we
could all see the big world-famous sign on the hill: "Hollywood"! We had a fun day at Universal Studios, although it's a very noisy and busy place! We went on the ET ride (like a bike up into the "sky") and the best one was a cool virtual reality ride "Back to the Future". We piled tightly into a "car" and got rocked and jolted all over as we "plunged" into all kinds of precarious situations! Dad had decided to sit out these kinds of rides and waited patiently for us outside. We also watched a movie-set show "Backdraft" (very hot!) and a fun drama on a set for "Waterworld" (movie with Kevin Costner). We planned to take the Studio tours but missed the last tour - they closed earlier than we thought. Nevermind. It was a fun day. We came back home at a reasonable hour (everyone slept in the van again!) and got packed up for the journey the next day. |
Here we are at the entrance; the big sign revolves.
The kids captivated by a crayon demo.
Erin with, erm... is it Anastasia from the Rug Rats?
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (or something like that!)
Aha, the indelible hulk! tee hee
Yikes! Scary thing is, he suits that! (chuckle)
More fun...
You can almost hear the music for "Jaws", ay?
