Tues, 12/26/00 | Plenty relaxing and socializing. Special big Christmas dinner and fun celebration with games! | |
This was our special "Christmas
Day" with turkey dinner and the trimmings! All the presents had been unwrapped
and the kids were enjoying their new toys, environment and camaraderie.
Some folks went out for a walk on the beach while Moira, Fiona and I had fun 'girl' time together getting the liquid supplies! We stopped to get a roll of film developed for Fi, then went on to search out the deals on drink. It was special being out together with my sisters; the checkout assistant commented on how alike we all are! In the afternoon, everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner (see below for "menu"!), followed by a fun Christmas Carol quiz and a wild and crazy Treasure Hunt for the kids -- everyone's favorite! I had hidden 12 clues around the house and each time the five kids successfully located a clue, they got a prize! Later, the adults had a blast playing Pictionary together. The girls (and Ty!) against the boys... and of course the girls won! Yay! What a fabulous day it was; my best Christmas ever. Dinner consisted of two Appetizers: Pizza Bites for the kids plus Baked Brie with Fruit. Entrée: California-Style Roast Turkey with Gravy, Cranberry-Orange Sauce, Cornbread and Sausage Stuffing (made by Ty!). Side Dishes: Green Bean Casserole, Roasted Brussells Sprouts and "Marshed" Sweet Potatoes. Dessert: Chocolate Pecan Tart or Cranberry Trifle. |
